Our "Why"
The same drive that built your success is the thing that won't let you rest. At your level, pressure is relentless and largely invisible to everyone around you. Traditional therapy was never built for that. Optimum Counseling was.
Between us, we have spent decades in rooms where the stakes were high and the margin for error was low. Traditional therapy is largely designed for crisis. It is built around helping people who are actively falling apart find their footing again. But that model leaves out an enormous population of people who are, by every visible measure, holding it together just fine. These are professionals carrying serious responsibility. Leaders managing complexity at scale. People who have built their entire identity around being the one with the answers. These individuals don't need to be stabilized. They need something different. They need help learning to truly see themselves. To examine the roles they've built, the relationships they're navigating, and the internal costs of always being "on." They need space to reimagine and redesign how they lead, how they connect, and how they live. That is what Optimum Counseling was built to provide.
We blend the clinical precision of advanced therapeutic training with the real-world acumen that only comes from having actually lived and led in high-pressure environments. The result is a practice designed for the complexity of thriving under extraordinary pressure.
The People Behind the Practice
Optimum Counseling was founded by Dr. Camille Alexander and Marcus Alexander — a husband-and-wife team whose combined backgrounds span clinical practice, military service, executive leadership, law, education, and government. They built this practice because they knew firsthand what it meant to carry serious responsibility — and what it costs when the personal gets neglected in service of the professional.

Camille Alexander, JD, DSW, MSW, LCSW
Dr. Camille Alexander is a therapist and consultant with a background in trauma, relationships, leadership, and organizational systems. In addition to her clinical work, she has worked in leadership roles in education, human resources, and city government, where she saw firsthand how stress, communication problems, and relational dynamics affect both organizations and families.
Her clinical work focuses on:
-
Attachment patterns, trauma, and emotional responses in relationships
-
High-functioning professionals experiencing stress, burnout, and decision fatigue
-
Navigating major life transitions, relationship changes, and complex decisions
-
Boundaries, expectations, and responsibility distribution in couples and families
Her work focuses heavily on understanding patterns in communication, responsibility, decision-making, and relationships so that clients can make more intentional choices and build healthier, more stable relationships over time. She takes a structured, insight-oriented approach and often helps clients understand not just what is happening in their lives and relationships, but why the same patterns continue and what needs to change for things to feel different.

Marcus Alexander, BBA, MS, LPC, NCC
Marcus is a therapist who works primarily with couples and families navigating stress, relationships, and life transitions. Before becoming a therapist, Marcus spent over 20 years in corporate leadership and served in the U.S. Air Force. His professional background and lived experiences give him a deep understanding of high-responsibility, leadership pressure, and the impact that work stress can have on relationships and family life.
His work focuses on:
-
Intimacy patterns and emotional connection in relationships
-
Understanding relationships at a systems level and restoring alignment between partners
-
Infidelity recovery, trust rebuilding, and relationship repair
-
Complex family dynamics, boundaries, and intergenerational patterns
He often helps couples move from blaming each other to understanding the patterns and dynamics they are both participating in, which allows the relationship to change rather than the same conflicts repeating.
Marcus is known for being calm, direct, and practical, and he often helps couples and individuals understand each other’s perspectives and communicate in ways that actually resolve problems rather than repeat the same conflicts.
Who We Work With
We work with individuals and couples, many of whom are professionals, leaders, business owners, healthcare workers, attorneys, educators, and parents managing significant responsibilities at work and at home. Many of our clients are high-functioning individuals who are used to managing stress and solving problems for others but want a space to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, and make more intentional decisions about their lives.
We provide online therapy and virtual counseling for individuals and couples experiencing stress, burnout, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, communication problems, and major life transitions. All services are provided via secure telehealth, and we work with clients located in Texas, Arizona, Washington, California, Colorado, Louisiana, and Vermont.
